Requirement for a Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate for Travellers Arriving from Countries with Risk of Yellow Fever Transmission

1. The Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA) has requested that the information on yellow fever vaccination requirement for travellers (including Singapore residents) entering Singapore be disseminated.
2. Yellow fever is a mosquito-borne acute viral haemorrhagic disease which is caused by the yellow fever virus. Although Singapore is free from yellow fever, we remain at risk of importation and transmission of the virus, given our position as a trade and travel hub and the presence of the mosquito vector. 3. All travellers, including Singapore residents, with travel history to countries with risk of yellow fever transmission (see Annex: Countries with risk of yellow fever transmission) in the six days prior to arrival in Singapore are required to have a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate and present it to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officer upon arrival to Singapore. Please note that this requirement applies to travellers who visited any area, region, or city in the countries listed in the Annex. This requirement also applies to travellers with more than 12 hours airport transit in these countries.
4. The International Certificate of Vaccination for yellow fever is only considered valid 10 days after vaccination and the validity lasts for the life of the person vaccinated. Yellow fever vaccination is available at GP clinics, as well as travel health clinics at public and private hospitals in Singapore. Staff and students should consult the doctor to review your suitability for the yellow fever vaccine.
5. Travellers without a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate (e.g. unvaccinated individuals, including those who are ineligible to receive the vaccination, and travellers whose certificate has yet to become valid) are liable to be quarantined under the Infectious Disease Act, for up to six days upon arrival in Singapore, with immediate effect. Quarantine must be served at a designated vector-free government quarantine facility.
6. Staff and students who intend to visit countries with risk of yellow fever transmission are advised to take the yellow vaccine at least 10 days prior to their travel.
7. Faculties, RIRCs and Departments hosting foreign guests or students arriving from these countries are advised to notify them to receive the yellow fever vaccine at least 10 days prior to their travel to Singapore.
