Dr. Wensheng Vincent Liu is a quantum many-body field theorist. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Jilin University and Beijing Normal University in China, respectively, and earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Texas at Austin in 1999 under the supervision of Professor Steven Weinberg. Following postdoctoral research training at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign and MIT, he joined the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Pittsburgh in 2004, where he currently directs the Interdisciplinary Quantum Science for Fundamental Physics Initiative (IQ Initiative). Throughout his career, he has received several awards and honors. He has served on the National Advisory Board of the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics China (KITPC) at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and has been actively involved in many research programs at KITP in Santa Barbara as a participant, program coordinator, or General Member. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society.

Gong Jiangbin received his PhD in theoretical chemical physics in 2001 from the University of Toronto. He was the Henry Croft postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto and then a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Chicago before joining NUS in 2006. He won the NUS Faculty of Science Outstanding Scientist Award 2016, the Institute of Physics Singapore “World Scientific” Prize and Medal 2016 for outstanding physics research, and the Singapore National Research Foundation Investigatorship Award (class of 2017) for his project on “Quantum control approach to new topological phases of matter”. He is also appointed as Provost's Chair Professor at the Faculty of Science for the period of July 2020 to June 2026.

Dr. Ariando is a Provost's Chair Professor and the Deputy Head of the Department of Physics at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He leads a research group focusing on functional quantum materials and devices, with particular emphasis on strongly correlated electron systems, two-dimensional materials, and their heterostructures, utilizing a material-by-design approach. Ariando is known for pioneering studies on the electronic and magnetic properties of oxide heterostructures and for advancing the field of high-temperature superconductivity in nickelate and cuprate systems.

Dr. Mei Bai is the Accelerator Directorate deputy director for science at the SLAC accelerator National Laboratory. Prior to joining SLAC, she was the head of the Accelerator Operations Division at the Gesellschaft für Schwerionenforschung (GSI), one of the Helmholtz research centers in Germany. Prior to GSI, she served as the director of the Large-Scale Facility Institute (IKP-4) at the Forschungszentrum Jülich, also in Germany. The institute IKP-4 is directly responsible for the operation of the Cooler Synchrotron (COSY). During this time, she led several upgrade activities at COSY for precision experiments such as storage ring based EDM search.

Dr. Lei Bao is a Professor of Physics at The Ohio State University (OSU), and leader of the physics and science education research program. Dr. Bao obtained his Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Maryland in 1999, and joined the faculty at the Ohio State University in 2000. He has been conducting research in a wide range of areas in science education. His research fields include education assessment, cognitive models of learning, behavioral studies of student learning process, alternative conceptions and conceptual change, scientific reasoning and critical thinking, science inquiry for problem solving, and education technology. These research projects are supported by the National Science Foundation, National Institute of Health, and The Department of Education. Dr. Bao has published extensively in science education literature and his work has been featured in major media such as the National Public Radio.

Dr. CHEN Wei is currently a Provost’s Chair Professor in both Chemistry Department and Physics Department at National University of Singapore (NUS). He received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Nanjing University (China) in 2001, Ph.D. degree from Chemistry Department at NUS in 2004 ​ His current research interests include Molecular-Level Interface Engineering for 2D-Materials Based Electronic and Optoelectronic devices for Neuromorphic Computing, and Interface-Controlled Nanocatalysis for Energy and Environmental Research.

Dr Yan Jie built a strong interest in studying molecular cell biology using a combination of novel single-molecule biophysical methods and theoretical modeling. Since he joined the Department of Physics of NUS in 2005, he has been leading a group to study DNA-protein interactions and micromechanics of biopolymers. He became a Principal Investigator in MBI in 2009, since then he has been focusing on studies of the effects of mechanical constraints on the stability and interactions of biomolecules

Dr Yvonne joined the Centre for Quantum Technologies at the National University of Singapore as a Presidential Young Professor and a National Research Foundation (NRF) Fellow in March 2020. Together with the team, she has been busy building up the lab’s capabilities in using small bosonic cQED systems as a window into the rich world of quantum physics and information science. Aside from supporting the people and science of qcrew, Yvonne also leads the diversity and inclusion efforts in the physics department as well as the health and wellbeing initiative in CQT

Dr. Zhang Yang is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics at the National University of Singapore (NUS). His research interest lies in understanding the topological states, quantum transport, and light-matter interaction in topological/strongly correlated materials and their potential applications for future quantum technology. He has worked in the areas of antiferromagnetic spintronics, nonlinear optics, moiré semiconductor, transport in Hubbard model system, material informatics, and machine learning.

Dr Kwek is currently a Principal Investigator (PI) at the Center for Quantum Technologies, National University of Singapore, a Professor of Education at the National Institute of Education, Singapore and a Professor of Engineering at the Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Nanyang Technological University. He is currently a co-Director of the Quantum Science and Engineering Centre (QSEC) at the Nanyang Technological University. He was (until December 2020) also the current Deputy Secretary General of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP). Other appointments include: the regional representative of Organization of Chinese Physicists and Astronomers (USA); the Secretary General for the South East Asian Theoretical Physics Association; Council Member for Working Group 5, IUPAP, on Women in Physics; Council Member of Tan Kah Kee Foundation and International Society; the Secretary General, Federation of ASEAN Physics Societies; the President of the Asian Physics Olympiad International Board (2015-2025), etc. He was one of the founding Co-Director of the Quantum Engineering Program, NRF; a past President of the Institute of Physics, Singapore (2008-2012); Fujitsu Visiting Professor at the University of Cambridge (2004).

Dr Lew is a full-time academic staff (Professor) at the Division of Physics and Applied Physics, School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University. He joined the University in January 2007 and is now working on building a research group focus on the research of spin injection in hybrid ferromagnetic-III-V-semiconductor devices. He has published 19 refereed journal papers, including two in the journal Physical Review Letters and one in the journal Nature. His research interests are spintronic and semiconductor devices, III-V solar cells, ultrathin epitaxial magnetic structures, and nanostructured magnetism. The applicant has been working on molecular beam epitaxy system for nine years in industrial and institution laboratories. He has vast experience in planning, designing, and setting up large scale research facilities independently. Prior to joining NTU, he worked as Research Associate at the Cavendish Laboratory where he took charge to set up a new microfabrication cleanroom and a multi-chamber six-target magnetic sensor magnetron sputtering deposition system during 2003-2006. Dr Lew is skilful in device fabrication and measurement.

Dr. Fan's PhD project was Brillouin spectroscopy of acoustic phonons of porous silicon and phase-change materials. His postdoc research in Germany was about patterned growth and optical properties of ZnO nanowires, and in Cambridge he worked on ferroelectric microtubes. Since joining NTU in 2008, he works on exploring new materials and understanding their functions in energy conversion and storage processes, including electrocatalysis for H2 generation and CO2 reduction, aqueous batteries and flexible energy devices. These energy materials include graphene and 2D semiconductors, and MXene.  Currently his group focuses on developping high-safety and low-cost aqueous batteries and atomic electrocatalysts.

Dr. Lim Kyungtak received a B.S. degree in Physics from Hanyang University, Korea, in 2015, an M.S. degree in Plasma Physics and Fusion (PPF) from Paris-Saclay University, France, in 2018, and a Ph.D. in Nuclear Fusion from Institut Jean Lamour (IJL), University of Lorraine, France, in 2021. Since 2021, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Swiss Plasma Center (SPC) at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. In 2024, he joined the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, as an Assistant Professor

Dr. Rainer Dumke studied Physics at the Leibniz University in Hanover / Germany and received his Dr. rer. nat. (PhD) in 2003. The title of the theses was Atom Optic and Quantum Information Processing With Micro Structured Optical Elements. During his PhD he worked for half a year at the National Institute for Standard and Technologies (NIST, Gaithersburg USA) on ultra cold Rydberg atoms. After finishing his PhD in Hanover he received a prestige Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt foundation. In 2003 he went again to NIST (Gaithersburg, USA) to continue research in the same group in the field of ultra cold molecules and quantum degenerate gases. After two years in September 2005 Rainer Dumke started a new research position at the Max Planck Research Group in Erlangen, Germany. Here he focused on the realization of an optical atomic clock based on an ultra cold trapped single Indium ion. In September 2006 he came to Singapore and worked in the new established School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences in the Division of Physics and Applied Physics at the Nanyang Technological University Singapore.

Prof Xu first joined National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, in 1994 as a lecturer and ten years later, he was promoted to Professor at NIE. Over the course of his tenure, he has tutored many aspiring students and conducted extensive research in Plasma Physics and Photovoltaics. Currently, he is the Principal Investigator of a new project funded by the National Research Foundation (NRF) that aims to develop a new generation of ‘green’ plasma propulsion systems of high specific impulse and high thrust to enable real-time and robust manoeuvre of satellites in low-earth/geostationary orbits and for deep-space exploration in prolonged missions

Dr Joel Yang received his Master of Science (2005) and PhD (2009) degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He is a Professor in the Engineering Product Development pillar at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and holds a joint appointment as Principal Scientist I at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) of A*STAR. He is recognized for pioneering work in plasmonic color printing, achieving record-level printing resolution at 100,000 dpi and credited for the widely-used “salty-developer” to improve the resolution of electron beam lithography. His research interests include Nanoplasmonics, 2D and 3D printed nano optical design elements (NODE), and sub-10-nm resolution lithography. He serves as Associate Editor of Science Advances, Associate Editor of Optics Express, and member of the Editorial Advisory Board of ACS Photonics. He is Fellow of OSA The Optical Society, NRF Investigator (class of 2020), and A*STAR Investigator (2010). His accolades include the IPS Nanotechnology Medal and Prize (Institute of Physics Singapore), MIT Technology Review TR35 award, and the Singapore Young Scientist Award.

Dr Dario Poletti is an Associate Professor and Head of the Science, Mathematics and Technology department of the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). He is also Principal Investigator at the Centre for Quantum Technologies and coordinator of the Majulab for the Quantum Thermodynamics, Energetics and Resources axis.

Dario first joined SUTD in 2012 as an Assistant Professor, starting his own group. He was previously a postdoc at CQT and with groups in France and Switzerland. He obtained his joint PhD in Physics from the National University of Singapore and the Australian National University in 2009, for which he received the Medal of the Materials Research Society of Singapore for the best PhD thesis in NUS Physics Department. Before that, he earned a Master of Engineering (Nuclear Engineering) from Politecnico di Milano and Master of Engineer (Applied Physics) from Ecole Centrale Paris.

In 2015, he was named in Asia Pacific MIT Technology Review's Innovators under 35 list, and in 2017 received the IoP Outstanding Referee Award for New Journal of Physics. He has publications in journals including Nature, Nature Communications, Nature Quantum Information, Physical Review Letters, Physical Review X and Review of Modern Physics.

He is serving as Vice President for the Institute of Physics Singapore.

Dr. Hsiao-Wen Chen is an Professor at the University of Chicago and the Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics (KICP). She is an expert in studying the intergalactic medium using quasar absorption lines, and in understanding its connection galaxies. The main goal of her research is to understand the astrophysics that regulates star formation and galaxy growth.

Dr. Albert M. Chang is currently Professor of Physics at Duke University. He held the position of Professor of Physics at Purdue University from 1997-2003, and Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories from 1984-1997. Prof. Chang is a low temperature condensed matter experimentalist specializing in nano-structured devices and systems in reduced dimensions. His interests span a broad range of correlated electronic systems. These include one-dimensional aluminum superconducting nanowires with diameters as narrow as 6 nm (24 atoms), quantum transitions in quantum-dot Kondo spin systems, one-dimensional electron Wigner crystal-like and correlated states, and chiral Luttinger edge excitations and fractional charge/statistics in the fractional quantum Hall regime. Prof. Chang received his Ph.D. from Princeton University in 1983, his B.Sc. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1977, and is a Fellow of the American Physical Society.

Dr. Cheng Chin earned his B.S. degree in Physics from National Taiwan University in 1993 and his Ph.D. degree in Physics from Stanford University in 2001 under the advisory of Dr. Steven Chu. He conducted postdoctoral research at Stanford (2001~2003) and at Innsbruck University (2003~2005). He joined the University of Chicago in 2005 and has been a full professor in the Department of Physics, the Enrico Fermi institute, and the James Franck institute since 2012. He has also been a visiting professor at Innsbruck University (Austria), ETH (Switzerland), Rice University, MIT, Academic Sinica (Taiwan), Univ. of Ulm(Germany), Univ. of Munich(Germany), Max Planck institute (Germany), JILA, Tsinghua University (China) and National Sun Yat-Sen University (Taiwan)

Professor Xuan Gao is an experimental condensed matter physicist. He is currently the Ohio Eminent Scholar Endowed Chair Professor in Condensed Matter Physics at Case Western Reserve University. He obtained his B.S. from South China University of Technology in 1998 and Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Columbia University in 2003. During his Ph.D., he did research on two-dimensional metal-insulator transition at Bell Labs in New Jersey. Between 2003 and 2007, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Los Alamos National Lab and Harvard University respectively. He's been a faculty member at Case Western Reserve University's Physics Dept since 2007. Professor Gao is a recipient of various awards including a CAREER Award from NSF, and an outstanding young researcher award from the International Organization of Chinese Physicists and Astronomers for his research achievements on transport in low dimensional electron systems and nanostructures.

Dr. Jin Huang is a high-energy nuclear physicist at Brookhaven National Laboratory in the US. He received his B.S. from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and his Ph.D. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2012. Dr. Huang joined Brookhaven in 2014 and was promoted to Physicist with Distinction of Tenure in 2021. His research focuses on experimental studies of strongly interacting Quantum Chromodynamics systems. He currently serves as a co-spokesperson for the sPHENIX experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC).

Dr. Zhirong Huang is a professor at SLAC and Stanford University. He is also the director of the Accelerator Research Division at SLAC. Zhirong has contributed significantly to the research and development, design, commissioning and operation of the world's first hard x-ray free-electron laser (LCLS) and its upgrades. He is a fellow of the American Physical Society and a winner of FEL2014 prize.

Dr. Ying-Jer Kao is a Professor of Physics at National Taiwan University. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Chicago in 2001. His research focuses on computational condensed matter physics, including tensor network algorithms, quantum magnetism, and topological phases. He is also actively engaged in artificial intelligence applications in physics, particularly in quantum machine learning and neural-network-based renormalization group methods. His contributions have been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Ta-You Wu Memorial Award, the Young Investigator Merit Award from the National Science and Technology Council (Taiwan), and the Research Award for Junior Research Investigators from Academia Sinica. He served as President of the Physical Society of Taiwan (2023-2024) and has contributed to various international advisory committees. He is currently a project manager at the Taiwan Quantum Program Office. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society.

Professor LI Baowen, a selected Member of Academia Europaea, Fellow of the American Physical Society. He is a pioneer in the emerging research field - phononics and thermal meta materials. He is the inventor of thermal diodes, thermal triodes, thermal logic gates, thermal memory and electronic speed self-heating methods for measuring thermal resistance. He reveals the topological properties of phonons, invention of new design principle of phonon laser. He has co-authored more than 400 papers, which have been cited over 32500 times with an h-index of 96. He also delivered more than 300 conference reports, keynote addresses, and invited speeches. He has received different kinds of awards, including the 2005 Singapore National Science Award, the 2005 Asian Achievement Award of the Physical Society for Overseas Chinese, and the 2017 International Phonon Society Brillouin Medal. Prof.

Expert on computational condensed matter physics. Born in Fuzhou, Fujian in July 1958, his native place is Fuzhou, Fujian. Dr LIN graduated from University of Science and Technology of China in 1981, obtained his master of science from Iowa State University in 1983, and his doctorate in physics from the University of California, San Diego in 1987. He is currently the dean of the School of Physics, Zhejiang University, and was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2019.

Dr. Kam-Biu attended the University of Hong Kong from 1973 to 1976 where he received his B.Sc. in Physics. He went on to Rutgers University in 1977 and was awarded his Ph.D. in 1983. Then he did his postdoctoral research at the University of Washington in Seattle until 1986 when he went to Fermilab as an Associate Scientist. Professor Luk came to UC Berkeley/LBL in 1989. He received the R.R. Wilson Fellow of Fermilab in 1986-1989; won the Department of Energy Outstanding Junior Investigator award in 1989-1991; received the Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellow in 1990-1994; a Miller Professor in the Fall of 2001; recipient of the Panofsky Prize in 2014, and a fellow of the American Physical Society.

Dr. Qiu received his Ph.D. in theoretical physics in 1987 from Columbia University in New York City, and was a postdoctoral research associate at Argonne National Lab and at the C.N. Yang Institute for Theoretical Physics at Stony Brook University. In 1991, Qiu joined the faculty of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Iowa State University in Ames, where he held positions as an assistant, associate and full professor of physics and astronomy. He moved to Brookhaven National Lab/Stony Brook University in 2010, and Jefferson Lab/William & Mary in 2016.

Dr. Hongfei Wang (王鸿飞) is an experimental physical chemist. He received his B.S. degree in Chemical Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 1988 and earned his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Columbia University in 1996. Following postdoctoral research training at the University of Pennsylvania and the DuPont Company's Marshall Laboratory, he was selected for the Chinese Academy of Sciences' "Hundred Talents Program" and served as a professor at the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences from 1999 to 2009. He then worked as a Chief Scientist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in the United States until 2017, later joining Fudan University as a professor. Since May 2021, he currently directs a research group at Westlake University's School of Science, focusing on surface, interface, and condensed-phase ultrafast and nonlinear spectroscopy and dynamics . Throughout his career, he has received several awards and honors, including being elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS) in 2012.

Dr. Ruiqin Zhang studied physics for his BSc and MSc and did Ph.D in Physical Chemistry at Shandong University. Before joining in the City University of Hong Kong, he had been in his visiting stays in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the University of Barcelona. His research interests include computational method developments and modeling and simulations with experimental confirmations of systems in condensed matter physics, surface science, chemistry, materials science, etc., aiming at revealing their formation/growth/reaction mechanisms, microstructures and novel properties. His proposals of using surface and stress/strain to engineer the electronic structure of low-dimensional systems are widely used in design and prediction of novel properties of functional materials in the scientific communities. He was one of the 10 recipients of the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation of Germany in 2004. He was honored with three other national awards including the State Natural Science Award of China. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society.

Dr Zhou Xingjiang, received a bachelor's degree in chemistry and chemical engineering from Tsinghua University in 1988, a master's degree in materials science and engineering from Tsinghua University in 1990, and a doctorate in condensed matter physics from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1994. From 1995 to 1997, he was a Humboldt Scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State, Stuttgart, Germany, a physicist at Stanford University and an advanced light beam line scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA, and from 2009 to 2022, he was the director of the State Key Laboratory of Superconductivity. He is currently a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has been a scholar in Review of Scientific Instruments, International Journal of Modern Physics B, Modern Physics Letters B, Superconductor Science and Technology, Scientific Reports, and Chinese Physics B and Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids and other magazine editorial board members
